Meals on Wheels Waco
Rachel Salazar joined Meals on Wheels Waco in March 2017 to serve as Director of Volunteers and Coordinator of Senior Centers. In June 2025, she shifted to a new role as Director of Grants, Engagement & Marketing. She is responsible for donor development, grant writing, community outreach, recruiting, training, and managing hundreds of volunteers, overseeing the activities program of the senior centers, managing their pet program, social media and publications. Prior to joining Meals on Wheels Waco, Rachel worked for Communities In Schools of the Heart of Texas for seven years and served in various positions, including as Program Outreach Coordinator and Mentoring Program Manager. Rachel has 37 years of work experience mostly in Asia and in international magazine publishing, development communications, event planning, and program development. Born, raised, and educated in the Philippines, Rachel has a degree in Communications. She moved to Waco in 2007.
