Heather deJong is passionate about her work with seniors, and always says "Seniors are my jam". She serves as the Director of Advancement & Engagement for Meals on Wheels of Ocean County and in that role, she is responsible for the implementation of the strategic plan, continually growing a network of community relationships that enhance the organizations’ ability to succeed in its mission. With over 20 years of experience, Heather also is, the grant writer for MOW of Mercer and Salem Counties and the Treasurer of MOWNJ Association. This leaves her in the unique position of understanding the differences in MOW's as well as their hardships and strengths. Heather is currently in her 3rd term as a Council Member for Brick Township. Being a Public Servant gives her a distinct perception of the needs of older adults and the role in which government can change their lives for the better.
