Meals on Wheels America
Carter Florence, DrPH, MPH, is Vice President, Programs at Meals on Wheels America, working to empower Meals on Wheels programs in delivering the Meals on Wheels Service Modelâ„¢ to grow the impact of Meals on Wheels services. Carter leads grantmaking efforts to build organizational capacity, provides education and training for implementing best practices, and supports the development of turnkey, scalable programmatic resources aimed at offering enhanced services, particularly in the areas of nutrition and socialization.
Carter has a long history working with community-based organizations to successfully design and implement health improvement programs and policies in rural and underserved areas. She is passionate about collaborations that improve the health of communities.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Centre College and a Master and Doctor of Public Health in Community Health from East Tennessee State University. An Appalachian native, she enjoys cooking, yoga, and traveling in her spare time.
